About This Project: Imagine an alternate universe where tidal energy was as prominent in the discussion of carbon-free energy sources like wind, solar, and nuclear energy. That’s the kind of world Coriolis Tidal would exist in.

As an excuse to practice designing for the energy industry, I wanted to use a relatively unknown source to the world to give myself a challenge, and tidal energy was something I had my mind on for a while. Fitting in with an oceanic-theme, I decided on using a teal-dark blue gradient for the logo. I could have used cyan or a shade of blue people more likely think about when you ask them to describe the color of water but one of my goals was to utilize green in some form to represent the potential of green energy and it’s ability to power our world.

Gill Sans came in handy for the lettering, adding to the modern, sleek aesthetic I was hoping to incorporate into Coriolis’ branding. I could’ve gone futuristic but in my honest opinion, green energy should be depicted as technology we could have on a wider scale in this day and age.
