About This Project: During my last semester of classes before going on internship (Spring Semester 2023), I was approached to design a logo for a student band while they were coming up with a new name.

Once the band settled on the name, the only other direction I was given was to base the logo off of a strat guitar. Afterwards, my main focus during the design process was to find a way to incorporate the shape of the strat with the kind of imagery a term such as “Beyond” would evoke. After considering multiple concepts that had resembled asteroids, canyons, and even more typographic ideas, me and the band agreed that more simple design that incorporated a ringed planet was the way to go, based on how it would represent the vastness of space could tie back in with the band’s new name.
